Is Christ the last name of Jesus (Yeshua)?

Although online research is able to locate digitized photos of the name of God "3Y3Z" (read right to left) on ancient scrolls, online research has failed to locate any valid digitized photos of the name 'Iesous' on ancient scrolls.  However, the ancient scrolls of The New Testament are currently being digitized by the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (CSNTM) for online accessibility, so we should be able to research the ancient scriptures in the near future.

Let's review several scriptures which refer specifically to the name of our Brother, The Messiah. In the New Testament, Apostle John uses 'Messiah' and 'Christ' as if they are interchangable titles (John 1:41, 4:25).  'Christ' translated into Greek is 'Christos'.  'Christos' means 'The Anointed' or 'The Messiah'. To 'anoint' means 'to pour onto with perfumed oil'.  The following information proves that 'Jesus' was never our Brother's first name and 'Christ' was never His last name. Our Brother's name is far more accurately portrayed when written as "Yeshua 'The Christ'" or "Yeshua 'The Messiah'".

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 (NIV)).

"All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name" (Acts 10:43 (NIV)).

"I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name" (1 John 2:12 (NIV)).

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19 (NIV)).

The Messiah prayed to His Father, "I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.  While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me" (John 17:11, 12 (NIV)).

'Iesous'  (Matthew 1:21, Luke 1:31, and Philippians 2:9-11) is the Greek form of the Hebrew name 'Joshua' (modern) / 'Yeshua' (Biblical) (Hebrews 4:8, Acts 7:45).  'Yeshua' is the shortened form of the name 'Yehoshua' (Exodus 17:9). The 'YeHo (YH)' in 'Yehoshua' is a theophoric reference to the name of God, 'YaH (YH)' (John 17:11).  The 'HoSHua' (Numbers 13:8, 16) is thought to have been derived from the Hebrew root 'HoSHea' (hosea) which means "to liberate" or "to save". Yehoshua is His formal name, and Yeshua is His informal name, just like Peter is often shortened to Pete.

'Iesous' was later transliterated into Latin without the letter "o" which created the name 'Iesus'.  With German influences, the letter "J" was eventually created and came into use in the 14th century, but the first edition of the King James Bible printed the name with the "I" in the early 1600's.  However, by the 17th century, the letter "I" was replaced by the letter "J" so the name 'Iesus' became 'Jesus' to further modernize the name of The Messiah.

Strong's Concordance identified 218 occurrences of the name 'Yehoshua' from the King James Bible.  The phonetic spelling or pronunciation of 'Yehoshua' is 'yeh-ho-shoo-ah'.

Healings and other miracles performed "in the name of Jesus" are no doubt attributed to the grace of Yeshua (Yehoshua) and His forgiveness for His name having been translated into foreign languages and altered for modernization.  The desecration of our Brother's name, "Yeshua", by replacing His name with the fabricated name, "Jesus", motivates me to preach the truth to those Christians who seek it.

If you visit a foreign country, do you want the foreigners to replace your name with a new name or a generic title they made up in their language, or do you want to be called by your real name?  Although I prefer to keep my name intact, the depth of Yeshua's grace and forgiveness is far beyond our comprehension.
